I made this thing (called Alfred) from an old gaming laptop, some extra RAM + ventilation and some carpentry skills I hope I never have to do again.
It felt like giving new life to the laptop that helped me throughout college. It can still play recent games at decent graphics. I use moonlight + apollo to stream them to my mac and I can play from anywhere!
I have also been using this to run openclaw - and it gave it a soul. It has a built-in speaker, loud enough that I used it for my new year party.
I enjoyed building it, and using it. I would’ve loved it more if RAM prices hadn’t gone insane but anyways, it worked out in the end, and I could not be happier with the result.
